This house at 925 Sunset Avenue in Dallas, Texas was built in 1910 by William Jefferson "Jeff" Merrifield. In the front in a chair is Aunt Sally McFall and Belle Merrifield is on the porch.
"The house was still standing when Grandpa died in 1951 and for a few years after. When he died all his property was sold and the money divided. That was a great house and I think it would still be were it still there.
After a few years, it was torn down and now apartments stand where it was and also the one next door (on one side) almost exactly like it that he had built for his oldest son, John Jefferson, Jr. (Jay) when he married.
Several relatives lived there for years until Grandpa started renting it out as apartments. He also owned a brick duplex on the other side of his house. It still stands today or rather a couple years ago it was there, when last I went by." [Mary Belle Merrifield Brackenridge]
