Spencer is with his 2nd wife, Ellen Louise Beck. This photo was taken not long after they were married in 1889 in Belmont County, Ohio. They had 12 children.
My 1st cousin thrice removed, Spencer was the son of my 2nd great-grand aunt, Susannah R. Merrifield and her husband, Fielding Wright.
Spencer's sister, Annis, married Ellen's brother, John Wesley Beck.
