"16 May 1965 obit: Merrifield, Mrs. Sarah Virginia Snodgrass, 89, of Fairview and formerly of Smithfield, W. Va., died Friday at 8 P.M. at Fairmont. She was born May 28, 1876, in Wetzel county, the daughter of Emory and Mary Ellen Stewart Snodgrass. She was a member of St. James Methodist Church, Smithfield.
Her husband, Amos, preceded her in death. Surviving are four sons, Ray of Smithfield, Amos, Jr. of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Virgil E. of Colliers; and Paul of Fairview; two brothers, Clem Snodgrass of Smithfield and Earl of Mannington; two sisters, Mrs. Nancy O. Fisher of Mannington and Mrs. Elizabeth Gilbert of Folsom, W. Va. eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received at the Palmer Funeral Home, Pine Grove, until noon Monday. From 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. at St. James Church, with funeral services at 2 P.M. Burial in Mannington Memorial Park.
