The son of Samuel Merrifield I, my 4th great-grandfather is buried in the Carter-Merrifield Cemetery in Fairmont, Marion County, West Virginia, and is indexed in the Daughters of the American Revolution Patriot Index along with his father and brothers, Samuel and Thomas.
