1850 Census for Jackson Township, Monroe County, OhioJohn Malson is on line 17, though surname is misspelled Molson. He is followed by wife, Rebecca, and daughter, Amanda (who died in 1851). On line 20 is mother, Christina (Christenia) Malson, wife of Daniel Malson, followed by Elizabeth who is most likely John's sister, daughter of Daniel & Christenia. Christenia died the following year and it is unknown what happened to Elizabeth and it is speculated that she never married. There is also a Frances Malson, aged 14, born in Pennsylvania but I am not certain of her kinship. Malson researcher, R. Simmons, has that John was married 2 or 3 times, however, he lists Rebecca Bennett as John's first wife. It is possible that there was a wife previous to Rebecca and that Frances is the child of that union. The only other Frances if that of brother, James Malson, who had a daughter named Frances born in 1847 and she would've been 3-years old at the time of the 1850 census so I think it unlikely the two are one and the same.
